1) Learners will have an improved understanding of the meaning of Poe's "The Raven."
2) Learners will utilize and enhance their existing language analysis skills to create a more dramatic interpretation of the text.
3) Learners will be able to more confidently perform some portion of the text after encouragement and exploration.

When I was in 9th grade, I spent the last 20 minutes before I went to sleep every night memorizing Poe's "The Raven" in its entirety. When I went on to act in and direct numerous productions over the following decades, I started using the piece with classes to explore diction, articulation, text research, literary devices, and vocal expression. It is a guaranteed good time and great learning opportunity.
