課堂經歷
In this class we will make simple no bake chocolate peanut butter cookies. They look like birds' nests and we will decorate them with candy eggs just in time for Easter. Learners will learn basic kitchen safety rules, how to measure their ingredients, and there will be a step-by-step video for them to follow while they make these cookies. I will be available to offer one-on-one help to any learner needing some extra assistance. Once the ingredients are heated and combined, they will drop them in balls onto parchment paper and we will decorate by adding their Easter egg candy of choice to the middle of the cookies. If we have extra time, we will learn some fun facts about the ingredients in our cookies. I always encourage learners in my classes to interact with each other and myself. If they prefer to use the chat, they will have that option as well. Learners will need to have some basic knowledge of how to use kitchen utensils, and they may need parental assistance when heating the ingredients on the stove. I will post a recipe card a week prior to the start of class.

Hello! I'm Teacher Vanessa. I have my Bachelor's degree in Dietetics from the University of Northern Colorado. I have worked with children and taught science, food and nature related classes for 15 years. I have taught online for 3 years and I'm comfortable navigating the online classroom format.
I currently homeschool my 6-year-old son and teach ESL online. In our homeschool community, I enjoy teaching food science, nature and seasonal lessons. I'm passionate about teaching kids where our food comes from, what's inside of it, the science behind cooking it and how our body uses it! I love creating lessons specific to the seasons and holidays. I'm also planning to teach classes related to the human body and nature. I will be primarily teaching children between the ages of 6-12.
I create interactive classes by adding games, videos, interactive slides and hands-on activities. I believe children learn best when they are relaxed and having fun. I want to have an inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable and encouraged to engage with each other. I'm a fun, relaxed and patient teacher and I can't wait to teach your children!
