If you can’t watch the New Year’s firework display or you just want to make your own, join me for this one-time, 55-minute class. We will use basic art supplies to create our own rainbow scratch art paper. Then, we will use different utensils to scratch the black away in order to create a firework design over a town.

We will make several ½ sheets of rainbow scratch paper. We will scratch one while it is wet to create our firework scene. The other can be used during class or saved to scratch after class.

1. We will play a very quick “Food, Friends, and Fireworks” ice breaker game to get to know each other
2. I will show the class a PowerPoint full of pictures of firework displays to give the children ideas. As we look at the pictures, we will talk about how fireworks look when they explode. 
3. I will demonstrate to the children how to create the rainbow scratch art paper and the class will create theirs.
4. I will then demonstrate how to scratch the paper to create our buildings and fireworks while the class creates their designs.

Some things about me and how I run my classes:
-	I rarely mute a child, I will only mute if the background noise or talking hinders others from enjoying class. I generally use typical classroom management methods first.
-	I ask questions and check in on the students frequently. If a student does not like to talk, I will usually ask if they are ok, but not pressure them for more response. 
-	No printing will be necessary
-	No prior knowledge is necessary
-	I will do my best to encourage the children to interact with each other
-	If you have a question, please ask. I usually respond very quickly, but almost always within 24 hours.
