In the course, Nature Journaling Throughout The Seasons, participants will learn about animals, plants, weather & seasons by engaging in conversation, listening to stories and poems, and illustrating their discoveries in a nature journal with the guidance and direction from an experienced teacher. Each session, I will present a lesson focusing on a particular topic. Lessons will include discussion and dialog and the presentation of images, stories, poems or short videos so that participants...
Participants will gain understanding about topics pertaining to the natural world. Participants will engage in conversation with the instructor and peers about topics presented in relation to their own experiences. Participants will ask questions to gain understanding about topics presented. With guidance and support, participants will illustrate representations topics presented.
Megan Devine has over 19 years teaching experience teaching at the primary level. She has her K-6 elementary teaching license with an emphasis in elementary art and has a Master's in Education Degree with a focus on Teaching and Learning. Megan spends many hours outdoors and loves sharing her love of nature and also artistic expression in fun, playful and engaging ways with children.
pencil colored pencils, crayons, or markers fine tip permanent marker *optional - good for working with watercolors watercolor paints, brushes, water nature journal - recommended product: Canson Artist Series Mix Media Pad, 9” x 12”, Side Wire Bound or something similar *use of a pad of individual paper is fine too, I recommend at least 90# weight paper
I will use e-books and videos from the Epic reading app to share literature relevant to each topic.
