This class is meant to be an introduction to the nature journal as a scientific tool. Please be aware that the focus of our journals will be direct scientific observation rather than artistic expression. In our first week, I will describe how to create and use a scientific nature journal. Each subsequent week we will have a different nature focus which we will explore through a prerecorded video, journaling prompts, and a collaborative game or project. Students do not need to go on...
Students should have a notebook of choice to use as a nature journal. This may be a sketchbook, a composition book, a dot journal, a regular spiral bound journal, or any other notebook of choice. While the focus of this class is not drawing, those who wish to include drawings may use any drawing implements of their choosing.
