Students will learn how to engage books they are reading by exploring themes and characters in the books they read. They will also learn how to discuss books with people and how to be kind when they disagree. Students will also get a chance to develop their writing skills by writing their own versions of the Narnia story.

Students will be assigned 2-3 chapters to read per class meeting. They will be provided with a worksheet each week to guide them in their reading. This worksheet will have questions to think about while they are reading. It will also have space for them to write down any unfamiliar words or phrases as well as space to write down any questions they have about the story. They will also be given a weekly writing assignment that will guide them to rewrite a portion of the Narnia story or reflect on the story in some way. Each week's writing assignment should only be one page long. Students should spend no more than 4 hours each week on this class. I want it to be a joy, not a burden.2 - 4 每週課外時間
