In this three week class with Kayla Stierwalt, students get to explore classic Nancy Drew mysteries together. This section focuses on the first three books, and the meetings focus on one book per week. The class follows a discussion based format. The teacher poses questions to get the students to engage with the text and each other. Topics include friendship, mystery story style, Nancy Drew as a timeless cultural icon, and more. Members can enjoy seeing who solved the mystery and how as they read, and they can share their enthusiasm for the series and the joy of reading. Though the series has the mysteries numbered, it is not imperative that students read them in order to understand. Each installment can be read as a standalone. This class reads the following books: Week 1 (August 6-12): Nancy Drew: The Secret of the Old Clock by Carolyn Keene Week 2 (August 13-19): Nancy Drew: The Hidden Staircase by Carolyn Keene Week 3 (August 20-26): Nancy Drew: The Bungalow Mystery by Carolyn Keene
