In this course we will explore and brainstorm ideas using visualization and sensory elements in order to create our own unique space to chill. Week One: After welcoming you, we will begin with a short exercise to imagine a real or imaginary place that makes us feel completely relaxed, such as the beach or your room. Next, we will explore the magical world of color to help identify how to connect colors with feelings. Which colors energize you? Which help you zone out? Using our five senses...
*Participants will understand how color and emotion are related and identify colors that are relaxing to them. *Participants will learn how sensory elements such as color, sound, light, texture and even smell can affect emotion. *Participants will gain skills to help them create a space for personal relaxation.

during each session: paper, writing/drawing instruments for follow-up assignments: magazines, catalogs, scissors, glue, paper (week 1) empty water bottle or glass jar, oil, sequins, sparkles or glitter for calm jar project (week 2) optional materials to create chill zone may include: (I will be encouraging participants to treasure hunt for items they already have at home) beach towels, cozy blankets or pillows, real or fake plants or flowers, music source, chimes or percussion instruments, fabric with a variety of textures, wood, shells, rocks, or art
Safety in the Chill Zone: We will cover these in each session. Please make sure your learner understands these important safety tips. *only use battery-operated candles *keep liquids or water away from outlets *never drape fabric over a lamp or cover a vent
