Drop in. We will cover the objectives listed here and work on your songs, too! Students will learn by interacting with the teacher at the piano and discussing/ viewing a power point. Students will use a popular song(s) to examine chords and chord structure. What is a scale? Scale degrees - How to name scale degrees in scales Chord building —what is a major triad? How to construct a major chord from scale notes. How to construct a minor chord. Students will know how to choose the next chord.
This is not a class about harmonizing a melody. But, if there is time, it will be included.
