Drop in. We will cover the objectives listed here and work on your songs, too! Students will learn by interacting with the teacher at the piano and discussing/ viewing a power point. Students will use a popular song(s) to examine chords and chord structure. What is a scale? Scale degrees - How to name scale degrees in scales Chord building —what is a major triad? How to construct a major chord from scale notes. How to construct a minor chord. Easy ways to remember chords Chords for C, F,...
Students will be able to name the notes of the major triads. Students will know how to choose the next chord. This is not a class about harmonizing a melody. But, if there is time, it will be included.
Professional musician, songwriter and composer.
None needed, but having a pencil and paper ready will be useful. Basic knowledge of music if helpful, but not required.
