This twelve week course will be divided into two six-week examinations of both the Baroque and Classical era of music. Students do not need any prior music knowledge to participate in this class.
Music history is a history of people. Sometimes people do things that are bizarre, violent, or immoral. An example of a delicate topic that will be hard to gloss over is "castrati" in Baroque opera. I encourage parents to Google this to know what it is beforehand. While it will be mentioned, of course that won't be the focus of the class and I am not endorsing the practice.
