What kind of music do you like? Have you heard that song? I love that song too! Music is a great icebreaker conversation topic and is a great way to start a friendship. While music is often a common thread in friendships, it is also important to broaden your horizons and learn about other music styles. Each week learners will get to "request" songs, and share their favorites with their friends. We will also have a quick mini-lesson on conversation skills. Class Outline: At the beginning of each class we will start with a mini-lesson on conversation. We will then start with a "pop" song and begin sharing our thoughts and musical experiences in a student led discussion. Students can then take turns making song requests. Songs may not all be available, and only songs that are "clean" and appropriate will be played. Student led discussion will be encouraged between each song. A playlist will be shared after class of all of the songs that were hand selected by students! Students are encouraged to build their musical knowledge and come to class with some interesting and thoughtful songs. Students can also simply request the song that they can't get out of their head because they love it so much. If your learner is looking for a pressure free, relaxing, and inspiring social experience that is music centered, then this class is for them!

Hello families!
My name is Jennifer Boham and I have been teaching math for 15 years. I hold a Florida Teaching License with certifications in Elementary Education and Middle School Math.
I love helping students overcome learning blocks like frustration, self-doubt, and of course boredom. My goal is to make sure your child feels supported in class and confident in their academic ability. I achieve this through patience, kindness, positive encouragement and lots of FUN.
When I was a young student, I actually struggled with math! This gives me a unique perspective and helps me reach students who are feeling frustrated. I overcame that frustration because I realized that my mindset was the only thing in the way. I realized that math could actually be fun! I never would have believed that before! Here I am, many years later, starting my 16th year of teaching math - another plot twist! I look forward to helping your learner find joy in learning math this school year and gain the confidence that will propel them forward, helping them reach their dreams.
My family and I live in Florida with our dogs Pepper and Dexter and our cat Junebug. I enjoy traveling, gardening, biking, relaxing at the beach and going to Disney!
