Ballet is one of the fundamentals of dance necessary to create a well-rounded dancer - it helps build control, muscle tone, and musicality. In this structured, once-a-week course, we will develop a stronger understanding of beginning ballet barre combinations and techniques using a mix of classical ballet accompaniments and instrumental variations of popular hit songs. This class is designed to build upon the fundamentals of ballet barre work and build control through body awareness. Ballet I can be retaken as often as desired to perfect the techniques as lesson plans evolve each month. The recommended time in Ballet I is a minimum of one (1) year before advancing to Ballet II - unless assessed otherwise.
I have been studying dance for 25 years with 8 years as an educator and I'm a firm believer that ballet sets all dancers up for success! Ballet teaches dancers control, precision, and self-discipline while providing both physical fitness and mental stimulation. I love how calming and poetic this discipline is while building confident dancers for life.
