One of London's most famous visitors is Paddington Bear. Born in darkest Peru, he travels to London and meets The Browns. He gets into all kinds of trouble as he learns how to live in a new city. While he misses his Aunt Lucy, he writes her letters often to tell her of his great adventures. Also, he loves to eat marmalade sandwiches. This lovely character was created by Michael Bond, and in this one-time class, we will learn the origins of Paddington Bear. How did Michael Bond get the idea for the bear? How many adventures has Paddington encountered? Where does Paddington live and how did he get his name? How do you make the perfect marmalade sandwich? All will be revealed!

As a London tour guide, I take visitors around to the various Paddington locations. As a little girl, Paddington was my first introduction to anything British. While I didn't develop my love for marmalade sandwiches until I moved to London, I enjoyed watching Paddington get into all kinds of trouble on his adventures. Paddington is a fish out of water, and just like everyone, he always finds a way to enjoy life. These wonderful stories are an excellent metaphor for finding your way in a new place, or even just remembering to be kind.
