Come have math fun with Miss Belinda and the Monsters! In this one-time, monster-themed class, students will be introduced to and practice simple addition and subtraction scenarios. Mathematical symbols will be taught and simple equations will be practiced. These concepts will be shared with the use of props, slides, and hands-on activities. The learners will be provided a couple of choices for their own monster to be printed off and used in class. We will spend a few minutes coloring and creating our own unique monster. Students will need to bring some (10-15) objects to use as monster eyes (fruit loops, wiggly eyes, buttons, cut-out circles, etc.). These will be used during our hands-on activities. I will also provide 2 activity sheets to be printed off that will be used in class for group instruction and practice. ***No worries if you don't have access to a printer or time to print off the activity sheets! Your learner can view the activity sheet on the screen and use a blank piece of paper to write on. **Learners joining this class need to know their numbers to 10 and be able to count objects in a set. They do not need prior knowledge of addition and subtraction. The Monsters and I hope you will come and have math fun with us!!
