This 30-minute session will focus on the coin's (penny, nickel, dime, quarter, fifty-cent piece) name, value, and one of the trickiest skills....adding the value of coin combinations. The idea behind "Hairy Money" is one that engages students in learning, what is typically a difficult skill. While it seems silly, teaching this strategy has been extremely SUCCESSFUL in my 20+ years as a teacher. The students have a great time with this concept, they remember it, and apply it in everyday life after learning how to use it. This course will include a review of the different coins as students are presented with a colorful and engaging powerpoint presentation, songs to commit to memory, opportunities to practice, how to illustrate this technique, as well as a "take home" file for easy reference. "Money, Money, Money, Money - Hairy Money" can be used as either an introduction course or a review. ENROLL TODAY!
