What Will Be Taught: The basics of budgeting: income, expenses, and savings. How to set realistic financial goals. Strategies for saving and avoiding common money mistakes. How is Your Class Structured? Step 1: Introduction to money management through slides and relatable examples. Step 2: Guided activities to create a budget, set savings goals, and identify expenses. Step 3: Reflection and practice exercises to reinforce key concepts. How Will You Teach? The class includes pre-recorded video lessons, visual examples, and downloadable budget and savings templates. Teens can pause to complete activities at their own pace, with optional submission of their budgets for feedback. What is Your Teaching Style? My teaching style is practical, approachable, and encouraging. I use real-life scenarios to make financial concepts relatable and break down complex topics into manageable steps to build confidence in teens. How Much Will Learners Get to Interact with You? Learners can submit their completed budgets or questions for optional feedback and personalized tips.

Get smart with your money! In this class, you’ll learn how to create a budget, set savings goals, and understand the basics of managing your money. By the end, you’ll have a personalized plan to start saving and spending wisely.

Students will not need to access any of the following tools, but will have visual access to these tools during the instructional period. I will use Canva and YouTube during the instructional period.

Previous Classes or Skills: No prior financial knowledge is needed.
Experience: Learners should be comfortable with basic math skills (e.g., addition, subtraction, and percentages).

Printable budget and savings templates (provided in the class). A calculator or access to a digital calculator. A notebook or digital document for notes and additional planning.
