Important Note: CEFR: all levels Class is inclusive and welcomes the neurodivergent learner. Class may be offered in Spanish. Learner will enjoy a calming, meditative story time listening and participating to "The Hermit and the Well", inspired by Thich Nhat Hanh's mindfulness teachings, with beautiful calm inspiring images, inviting learner to see beauty, goodness, and tranquility all around - like the still image of a mountain, the sweet sound of a water well - filling the heart and mind spaces with inner joy. During the story time, Learner will also be guided to learn how to breathe mindfully to calm down and relax. Learner will be encouraged to continue with mini mindful breathing practices, and ideas will be shared. This class is ideal for introducing learners to the relaxing mindful breathing technique through a story that is both beautiful and calming. It may also serve as an evening story to begin the winding down process. Class is one on one, so the child has ample opportunities to participate freely. For these reasons and for gauging Learner's interest level and to be able to adjust accordingly, I require open mics and video in my classes so there is a sense of community and engagement with the material. This class is part of a Mindfulness group of classes which may be taken as often as desired as there will always be a slightly different mindful breathing meditation. Parents of younger learners who may need more direct coaching are welcome to be with the young learner and offer their support as needed.
