課堂經歷

Come to class with your favorite, simplest food of choice (i.e. a fruit, vegetable, etc). Whatever delights your taste buds!

Using many of your senses, we will unfold what mindful eating is and how it can benefit you! 

Class overview: 

1. SIGHT: Taking a look at our food. 
2. TOUCH: Touching our food. 
3. EMOTION/ CONNECTION: How does this food makes us feel. 
4. SMELL: The nose knows
5. AWARENESS: Food appreciation. 
6. TASTE: The final taste test
7. REFLECTION: How do you feel? How will you apply mindfulness to your eating habits?

By the end of the class, students will walk away with a greater appreciation for food and learn how to apply mindfulness to their food consumption.

Although parents are not required to supervise our lessons, they are encouraged to be near by in the event that the student needs technical or material support.

I have been a teacher for the last decade, specializing primarily in early literacy and writing, mathematics, and social emotional wellness. I love history and anthropology, psychology, creating art and music, baking, hiking, and more!  My general approach to teaching is slow paced, warm, and encouraging. I meet the learner where they are, while giving them space to blossom at their own pace. I pride myself in using positive language and responsive classroom techniques to run my lessons.
