In this class, students will dive deeply into creative writing five times a week for two weeks. They will learn about the writing process, characters, setting, plot, dialogue and more. Each class begins with a lesson and then students are given up to twenty minutes to write. Students will complete one story of 500 to 1,500 words in the class. Learners get a lot of feedback and attention in this class. We will also be reading two mentor stories that will serve as an example of writing to show well-done story elements. We will be reading Miss Awful by Arthur Cavanaugh and Raymond's Run by Toni Cade Bambera.

Students will be able to explain each step of the writing process - a process which is used in all types of writing.Students will be able to comprehend stories more fully upon grasping the meaning of each story elements.
