If you love mermaids, this is the class for you! Learners will begin class with a quick ice breaker to help them get to know each other! They can bring a mermaid toy to class so that they can share their mermaid with others. We will read a story about a mermaid who has a problem called, "Pearl" by Molly Idle. Learners will be encouraged to share connections, ask questions, and make predictions about the story. After the story, learners will draw a mermaid. They can choose to follow along...
Learners will be able to practice their speaking skills by sharing about their favorite mermaid. Learners will improve their reading comprehension and vocabulary by listening to a fun story. Learners will be able to use their creativity and fine motor skills to draw a mermaid. Learners will practice their writing skills by writing in complete sentences. Learners will use their imaginations to think of a story about a mermaid.
