In this class learners will be taught about the mythical creature, the mermaid! Children will learn and discuss vocabulary such as ‘mythical’, ‘legendary’ and ‘folklore’. The class will start with a discussion on what the children already know about mermaids and what they like about them. I will then go on to my presentation which is full of information which I have found out about this legendary creature. The next part of the class will be to complete the mermaid themed activities, which will need to be printed off prior to class. These activities will include making a drawing or writing about a mermaid, colouring, creating a simple poem and filling out a wordsearch. Also note, it is not compulsory to print off all the materials, just print off the activities that you'd like to do. You are also very welcome to finish off any activities after class.

Students will learn new vocabulary, speaking and listening skills, beliefs from legends and folklore, simple writing, colouring skills, and creativity.
