Medical Curiosity: Preparing for Medical School and Becoming a Lifelong Learner This class is an introduction class for curious high school and adjacent aged students interested in a career in medicine! My goal is to provide an accurate framework of medical education to aspiring students. This will impower them to make appropriate strides in their young professional careers. By the end of this intro class, students should be able to provide a cursory explanation of the following topics: Typical education track and required timeline: - How long you can expect to be a student - High School, Undergraduate, Medical School and Residency: what each stage entails - Alternative routes to become a physician Preparing for Medicine: - Courses to take on the way - Extracurricular activities - Volunteer opportunities - Preparing for Undergraduate (college) training Traits of a successful student: - Curiosity - Discipline - Study Schedules and popular techniques: tips and tricks Who Can Become a Physician? Alternative Career Paths within medicine/healthcare
