Let's take a look at the kinematic equations, a set of formulas designed to help us figure out the basic physics of linear motion in a large number of situations. Along with slides for each equation, we will use Desmos and application problems to work out how these equations derived and their uses. While much of the class will be lecture-style, especially in deriving the equations, I will also be prompting students to contribute by helping us all decide which equations are appropriate for which problems we encounter. I believe that the only way to really learn mathematics as a skill, and not simply an intellectual exercise, is by doing mathematics. With this in mind, students will also be prompted to work out some problems on their own before sharing or receiving assistance.
學習目標
Students will become familiar with the standard five kinematic equations often taught in high school and college physics courses.
Students will be invited to problem-solve together with the teacher to work out solutions to basic physics problems.

I am certified through the Praxis II (5161) exam to teach high school mathematics (pre-algebra through calculus), but my range of subjects has included ACT/SAT test prep, college-level mathematics, science, logic, languages, and philosophy.
