課堂經歷
*For the new section starting November 30th, no classes are scheduled Dec.21- Jan.1. This class is a continuation of Pt. 1 and is perfect for students who are not attending brick and mortar schools this fall but would still like the consistency, routine and structure of a classroom environment. Some of the math topics addressed in this course include number recognition to 31, counting, writing numbers, solid figures, tables and graphs, and addition and subtraction readiness. The use of slides, videos, songs, and props may be used during class. We will begin each class with a question of the day. The children will get a chance to use prior knowledge to solve a problem. This problem will either be something that has not yet been taught by me or a review of something from one of our previous classes. Afterwards, I will introduce the topic of the day with a mini lesson followed by a demonstration of the concept in use then everyone will have a chance to do it together (depending on the activity) with worksheets and then finish up with each child being able to show or express what they have learned during the lesson. This may be done in the form of a "hands-on" activity or simply answering a question. The goal for this course is to introduce and review these important math concepts with the children. As they begin to master these, they will be able to build upon them to learn more difficult concepts. There will be some activities where it may be necessary to complete the activity or task after class. Children should come to class prepared with a crayon, marker or pencil to complete worksheets and a question to check for comprehension of the topic. No classes will be held the week of Nov. 23rd. Topics to be covered: *changes/scheduling may be made depending on class need Week 1 (Geometry) - solid figures - moving shapes, review of plane shapes, combining and separating figures Weeks 2 and 3 (Numbers to 31) -identifying and writing numbers to 31 -comparing numbers to 31 -ordering numbers to 31 -estimating groups Week 4 (Tables and Graphs) -tally marks and charts -picture graphs, pictographs -surveys and real graphs -bar graphs Week 5 and 6 (Addition Readiness) -joining -adding 1, 2, 3, 4 -vertical addition -using ten frames to add Week 7 and 8 (Subtraction Readiness) -taking away -subtract 1, 2, 3, 4 -vertical subtraction -using ten frames to subtract

教師專業知識和證書
Hello Everyone!
My name is Ms. Celeste and I've been a teacher for 20 years. I've spent most of that time with pre-k through second grade with time in the middle of those years as a Basic Skills Coordinator for third through fifth grades. I've also worked with college students in conjunction with the Basic Skills program as a facilitator to pair students with young college adults. I have a B.A from Rutgers University in New Jersey and I hold two teaching certificates, one for Preschool through Second Grade and the other is Kindergarten through Fifth Grade.
When I am not teaching, I like to engross myself in anything creative or "artsy", whether that is acting, photography, or painting.
I am so excited to make this switch from brick and mortar schools to teaching online with Outschool. I look forward to working with your children to provide them with fun and engaging activities and lessons.
See you soon!
Ms.Celeste
