Future projects will be inspired by the following artworks

May 2-6: "Mount Baker, Washington," Albert Bierstadt, 1891
May 9-13: "Woman in a Hat," Getchen Woodman Rogers, 1915
May 16-20: "Jonah and the Whale," Pieter Lastman, 1621 
(This artwork will be slightly edited for class.)
May 23- 27: "The Scream," Edvard Munch, 1893

Each week, students will be introduced to an artist or art movement.  We'll learn a bit about the artists, characteristics of their work, and use their style to inspire our own artworks!

Students will follow along with a teacher-led demonstration to create their own miniature masterpieces. Together, we will create a beautiful artwork, step-by-step.  Although specific instruction will be provided, students are encouraged to add their own unique, creative details to their paintings & drawings.  Throughout the weeks, we will cover a range of artistic techniques and subjects, which students can apply to artworks they create on their own!

**Although each demonstration will be finished by the end of class, students who work more slowly may need or wish to continue drawing after we have signed off for the day.  Everyone works at a different speed, and it's better to take our time than to rush!
