每週 1-2 小時. The type and amount of homework assigned will depend on the specific needs and goals of the learners and how many learners are enrolled. --Homework assignments may include reading and analyzing texts, completing comprehension questions, vocabulary exercises, and writing responses to texts. --Mini projects assigned either individually or as a group. If learners work in groups, they will be given clear instructions and guidelines for collaboration. --The time required to complete homework assignments will depend on the nature and complexity of the assignment. Generally, learners should expect to spend 30 minutes to one (1) hour on homework assignments per class session. --Depending on the reading level and pace of the class, learners will be expected to read during the week. Learners will be given clear instructions on which parts of the text to read and how to approach the reading.
評估
Progress will be assessed as follows: --Learner Questions: Learners will be encouraged to ask questions about the text being read, which can help assess their comprehension of the material. --Discussion: The instructor will facilitate discussion about the text, encouraging learners to share their thoughts and ideas, thus assessing each learner's ability to analyze and interpret the material. --Inferences: Learners will be asked to make inferences based on the text to assess their ability to draw conclusions and make connections between different parts of the material. --Personal Connections: Learners will work through ways to connect with the characters on a personal level, and assess their ability to empathize and relate to the material. --Articulating Importance: When reading nonfiction, the instructor may ask learners to articulate why the material is important and why others should care about it, assessing their ability to analyze and synthesize information.

課堂經歷

This course is designed to help learners improve their reading comprehension skills. Learners will cover various strategies to improve their ability to understand and interpret different types of fiction and non-fiction texts. Through interactive exercises, group discussions, and practical application, learners will develop a love for reading and gain confidence in their abilities.

Course Outline:
Week 1: Introduction to Reading Comprehension
Weeks 2-3: Strategies for Understanding Fiction
Weeks 4-5: Strategies for Understanding Non-Fiction
Weeks 6-7: Summarizing and Analyzing Texts
Week 8: Putting it All Together

Reading Selections:
Fiction: "Josephine" by Anonymous | "I Saw What I Saw" by Judie Angell | "A Game of Catch" by Richard Wilbur
Nonfiction: "Thirst" by Kristin Lewis | "Should Kids Play Football" by Jennifer Shitz | "The Dust Bowl" by Alex Porter and Kristin Lewis

Course Structure:
The course will be taught over eight (8) weeks, with each week or two covering a specific topic related to reading comprehension. The course will consist of interactive instruction, group discussions, practical exercises, and assignments. Students will be encouraged to ask questions, share their ideas, and actively participate in the class.

Teaching Style:
The instructor will use a combination of shared discussion and interactive exercises to ensure that learners are engaged and understand the course material. The teaching style is student-centered, with a focus on fostering critical thinking and independent learning.

Interaction:
Learners will have ample opportunities to interact with the instructor and their peers during the course. Group discussions, interactive exercises, and assignments will encourage learners to share their ideas and perspectives on the reading material and explored strategies. The course will also incorporate visual aids to make the material more engaging and accessible. Learners can also reach out to the instructor at any time during the week.

Required Experience/Knowledge:
No prior experience or knowledge is required to take this course. Learners, however, should come to each session prepared and be willing to actively participate in class discussions and exercises. If the instructor determines reading levels to be too dissimilar, a separate section will be recommended.

All materials will be supplied to the attending learners. It is recommended, however, that a notebook and writing utensil be handy for each session so learners can record thoughts, questions, or observations.

Parents and students can expect a wrap-up following each class with resources that can be used for the week's activity and for future school-related assignments.
