This unique class is a virtual field trip. In order to save time, the visit to the sights are pre-recorded by the teacher. I have gone to the sights specifically for the class and recorded the clips. The class as a whole is live with the video woven into live conversation during class. The class is set up with a video from the teacher on location on the site. I have taught the civil rights movement here in Memphis for the last four years to elementary school learners.
We will be discussing the civil rights movement and how Martin Luther King supported it. This is a sensitive topic for some. I will stick to the facts and show students the locations while discussing the history that accompanies it.
