課堂經歷
There’s plenty of good reasons that millions of people around the world study and train martial arts! Some people learn it for self-defence, some people learn it for fitness & well-being, and some people learn it to make friends and build confidence. In this on-going class, we will look at the different styles of martial arts, including boxing, brazilian jiu-jitsu, and mma. If you are thinking of starting your martial arts journey, this will allow you to make an informed choice about which style you want to study. If you currently train a martial art, this will allow you to share with the class your experience. In this discussions, we will not focus on live video techniques, therefore training equipment or space is not required. Rather, we will focus on the origins of the sport, rules, history, and prominent figures in the different martial arts. Sample weeks are as follows: Week beginning 13-May - Overview of martial arts Week beginning 20-May - Boxing Week beginning 27-May - Brazilian jiu-jitsu Week beginning 03-Jun - Judo We will also discuss what makes a good instructor and a good club, so you know you are learning from the best. In addition, we will discuss different reasons why people train martial arts and how you can make your own training goals. This class is suitable for anybody with an interest in any martial art, such as a current practitioner. It is also suitable for anybody who is thinking of taking up a martial arts. Furthermore, the class is suitable for those interested in general health, fitness, and wellbeing, as it will give students an understanding of one of the fastest growing sports around the world. As students begin to discuss a common interest, it should also help develop social skills and build friendships.

I am a fully qualified martial arts instructor from Hybrid Fight Academy in Scotland. I have been training martial arts for over 10 years and trained in a variety of styles including boxing, mma, wrestling, and grappling. In addition to techniques, a large part of my training is focused on the fitness aspect of martial arts, something which is crucial to success but also something which aids my overall physical and mental well-being.
