Hello and thank you for your interest in my class! I am honored that you would consider me to be your child's teacher and I do not take that responsibility lightly.  I am an experienced high school teacher and while I hold a bachelor's degree in English, I have also taught other elective classes, such as current events and journalism.  I know my experience in the traditional classroom will bring value to the virtual classroom. Continuing with English and my passion for it, I am now an ESL teacher to children in China.  This experience brings me value in conducting, pacing and holding virtual classes.  Together, I have over fourteen years of teaching experience in the classroom, sharing knowledge to students!

In the online classroom, interaction is the key to learning. My teaching style is very hands on and interactive for whatever subject I may be teaching (yes, this even includes English!). Modeling the Bloom's Taxonomy framework, the goal of each and every one of my classes is for your child to not just remember facts, but take the information learned and to be able to create with it.  This is the optimum level attained when learning something new.  The classes I design for ages 3 years old through high school are built on this foundation, because I truly have a desire to teach and for my students to genuinely learn.  From the ABC's to writing thesis statements; from princess story times to cartwheel lessons, your child will be creating in each class! 

As a mom of four children ages 7 & under, I often use energy and excitement to motivate.  If you have high energy children that would value a hands on, creative class, I know my classes will be for you, and I would love the opportunity to teach your child! 

In my spare time during summer hours, one can always find me in the great outdoors! I enjoy all things active such as hiking, running and swimming.  During the winter months, I will often be curled up on the couch by my fireplace with a cozy blanket and a good book! Of course, this is only when my children let me :)   Again, thank you for your consideration and I look forward to getting to know you and your child in my classroom!
