My goal for each student is to help them gain confidence and become comfortable listening, speaking Mandarin, and reading, and writing in simplified Chinese. 

Hello! Thank you so much for showing interest in my classes. I am Ms. Amy. I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker. I have multiple degrees in languages and literature and spend a lot of time reading and translating literary works. I have more than 10 years of teaching experience in different levels of Chinese to students from kindergarten to university. I offer specific, individually tailored lessons in the areas of pronunciation, listening, speaking, reading and writing. I have been also tutoring IB Chinese language B and Mandarin ab initio, and  AP Chinese language and culture and different levels of conversation, reading and writing.
I apply communicative teaching strategies to encourage learners to engage in learning activities that are based on their language skills, topics of interest and individually tailored materials. 
I like to read books and practice Chinese calligraphy while I’m not working.

細節: We have homework regularly, usually it takes approximately 15-20 minutes to read or write a few sentences,  paragraphs, a short story, or an email, etc.
