This class is a great way to get to know me as a teacher. We will begin by brainstorming what we know about themes in literature. We will watch a video about themes and then put together a puzzle about the themes in The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. Lastly, we will put it all together by playing a game of Kahoots. One-time class * Welcome * Youtube Video on "What is a Theme?". * Theme Task Cards *Put together a puzzle with different themes in the book The Magic Finger. *Play a Kahoot! Game with questions about the story, The Magic Finger.

The student will be able to define the term, theme and determine a theme from a story.The student will be able to comprehend a book read with 80% accuracy.

Each student will need to read the book, The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl before class begins to be able to get the most out of class.
Students will also need to be able to play Kahoots on a separate device or another tab on the device they are using for class.
