Puzzles can be used to teach a variety of topics in an engaging and entertaining way. This is a critical thinking workshop in which students will be presented with narratives and then asked to fill in the missing information based on the available clues. The narratives can be fun, silly or surprising but the solutions are never obvious. Throughout these sessions we will be using and creating grids to organize our data and help us in the process of eliminating wrong answers and arriving at...
The focus of this workshop is to introduce the students to an effective technique for organizing data such as puzzles clues. An additional advantage of data grids for teaching logic is that the simple structure of the grid makes it easier for students to comprehend the concept of the logical fallacy by being able to easily identify false clues and logical inconsistencies.
