🐝 Welcome to Little Spelling Bee: Spell It Out! 🐝

This spelling tutoring class is designed to help your child become a confident and proficient speller! In these engaging 1:1 sessions, learners will receive individualised attention and customised lessons tailored to their unique learning pace and style.

📚 What topics will you cover?

1. Phonics - the basics of letter sounds and blending 
2. Key spelling rules and exceptions
3. Word families 
4. High-frequency or sight words
5. Constructing and deconstructing words using prefixes, suffixes and root words
6. Strategies to use for irregularly spelled words

🏫 How is your class structured?

Each session will feature:

1. A warm up reviewing the content of the previous session
2. An introduction on the day's topic with multimedia resources and interactive activities 
3. Hands-on exercises for learners to practice new skills
4. A review to reinforce the lesson and provide additional practice if needed

Teaching methods include interactive games, puzzles, writing exercises and personalised feedback designed to keep students engaged and motivated.

🍎 What's your teaching style?

My teaching style is student-centered, focusing on the individual needs and pace of each learner. Creating a supportive environment is key to building learner confidence. I achieve this by uplifting my students with positive praise, instilling resilience by highlighting errors as valuable learning moments and inspiring them to boldly tackle new and unfamiliar words. My adaptable approach means I am able to tailor methods and materials according to student progress and feedback in order to maximise their learning outcomes. 
 
🧑‍💻 Interaction is at the heart of Little Spelling Bee. Learners will have plenty of opportunities to engage with the teacher through:

1. Active Participation: Learners are encouraged to actively participate by asking questions, sharing thoughts and discussing spelling strategies. This creates a collaborative learning environment, making spelling less intimidating! 

2. Interactive Activities: Word games, spelling challenges and puzzles makes learning fun and encourages students to interact with the teacher while practicing spelling skills.

3. Goal Setting: Learners can collaborate with the teacher to set learning goals, regularly review set goals and track progress over time
