課堂經歷
For four weeks, I will cover the “Dinosaur (恐龙)" theme. We will start with greetings, opening song, calendar, and weather in Chinese and English. Then we will delve into the theme. Class 1: Dinosaur (恐龙) We will learn “Ten Little Dinosaurs" song in English. We will work on the word "Dinosaur" in Chinese and English. Class 2: Triceratops (三角龙) We will learn the word “Triceratops" in Chinese and English. We will do Triceratops Splat Painting. Class 3: Brachiosaurus (腕龙 ) We will learn the word “Brachiosaurus” in Chinese and English. We will practice our fine motor skill and life skill through Origami. Class 4: Stegosaurus (剑龙 ) We will learn the word “Stegosaurus” in Chinese and English. We will count our Stegosaurus spines. Throughout the circle time, I will encourage your child to share their opinions. They will learn to take turns and listen to their friends during this period. Requirement for the class: 1. Please keep the video on during class. That way, I can see the beautiful and handsome faces of your children. 2. Please make sure your child's name is written instead of the adults' name. 3. Please teach your child to mute and unmute. If they are not able to, it's ok. We will work it through. They will be unmuted upon entry. 4. Please turn off your virtual background because it is very hard for me to view their work when they are showing their paper with the virtual background on. 5. Please be around to provide off-camera supervision as needed during class as per Outschool policy.

As a parent, I have always believed that children will benefit more if their parents know what the little ones are learning and to reinforce their new knowledge outside of class time. I expect the little ones to be able to try on the activities by themselves without much support from their adults. However, sometimes, if I feel that your child need support during the activities, I will inform you. Please be around to supervise your child and ready to assist if needed especially during scissors time. If your child still put things in their mouth / ear / nose, please stay beside your child off the screen during class for their safety.

Class 1 - blank paper, markers Class 2 - white watercolor paper, cotton balls (6 - 9 balls), tempera paints (any colors), palette for paints, paper towel / rag Class 3 - origami paper / colorful square papers (thin type, not cardstock) Class 4 - Stegosaurus print out in plastic sleeve or laminated, play dough (any color), 1-2 dice

I was a bilingual (Chinese - English) preschool teacher and a mom to my 7 year old son. I have taught 2.5 - 5.5 year old children for 3 years before deciding to stay home with my son for his virtual schooling due to the pandemic. Before becoming a preschool teacher, I was a Program Coordinator for a Chinese after school program (K-5) for 5 years.
I was raised as a trilingual (Indonesian, English, and Chinese) child and I believe that children raised with at least two language will benefit in life. Therefore, I am passionate about teaching children at least two languages (Chinese - English or Indonesian - English) at an early age especially during the Golden Period of 2 - 4 years of age. Teaching two languages to young children will be in different format from teaching older children. I will include songs, hands-on activities for their fine motor skills development, movements for their gross motor skills development, arts, language arts, math, etc.
This class will be in a circle time format for your young child and will be conducted in both Chinese and English. I will switch back and forth between the two languages. If your child do not speak Chinese or English yet, he / she will be fine. I will translate for them as needed. Remember, their brain is like a sponge right now! They will absorb fast! 評論
