In this hands-on, interactive class, students will use shapes and numbers to create personal and unique "shape monsters". Students will start with a monster template (that I will provide). Then students will take turns "spinning the wheel" which will identify what shape and how many they will add to the template. For example, a student may "spin" 4 circles. Each student in the class can then decide how and where they want to add 4 circles to their monster. Each student will have the...
In this class students will: 1. learn (or review) shapes (circle, square, rectangle, triangle, oval, diamond, heart and star) 2. learn (or review) numbers (1-5) 3. practice fine motor skills by drawing shapes 4. practice listening skills 5. practice patience (by raising hands and waiting for turn) 6. HAVE FUN!
Through homeschooling our 2 children I have learned that the best kind of learning takes place when it is presented in a memorable and engaging way. Learning should be an experience, not a task. That makes the learning AND teaching more fun!
