Little Bankers: Be a Banker for a Day! 
(Ages 6-8) 
In this one time class, learners will get to be bankers for a day! We will explore what it is like to work in a bank.
This class is a mix of Social Studies, Math, and Life Skills!  Children will learn about one of the important community helpers and get a taste of Economics.
 
We will learn answers to questions such as:
* What do bank tellers do? 
* What is a vault?
* What is counterfeit?
* What is a bank account?

We will have fun counting play money together, learn what a debit card looks like and what it is used for, and even practice cashing a paycheck! 
I will share images and play games to keep the children interested and engaged.
The Little Bankers will even earn a “Little Banker Certificate” that parents can type or write their name on and print out.

Printable PDFs of:

-My First Paycheck
-My First Debit Card
-Little Banker Certificate

Play money, a colorful “ My First Debit Card”, and “My First Paycheck”, and the “Little Banker Certificate” will be provided in printable PDF form before class.
***For learners to get the most out of class, I recommend printing and cutting out the play money and “My First Paycheck” props before class. 
***We will be practicing counting U.S. currency.

The “My First Debit Card” PDF has a fillable line where parents can type in the learners name before printing. Print, cut out, and tape the front and back of the play debit card together.

CLASS RULES/MUTING:
We will go over class rules before we start our activities, so the learners know what to expect.  In order to allow everyone to participate in a fair manner, I ask that learners raise their hand and wait to be called on to answer a question.  
I also find that the best way to keep everyone on track is to ask learners to hold questions about the lesson until afterwards, when I will be glad to answer them.

I prefer to keep the learners unmuted to encourage full participation.  However, as a parent, I understand that there are times when muting is necessary due to background noise that may be distracting to other learners.  As the teacher, I may need to utilize the mute feature at times to help all learners to get the most out of class.

SIBLINGS:
I am happy to welcome siblings into my class.  In order for all learners to have a fair share in participating, all learners that wish to participate in class must be enrolled.  However, once both are enrolled, siblings are welcome to share a screen if they like.  To allow me to call on students by name, please rename the siblings in Zoom so I can see both names.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS:
If a class has not met the minimum number of enrollments, it is subject to being canceled. I will send a message asking if you'd like a transfer to another date & time or full refund if the class is canceled. Automatic refunds are issued for no responses after original class start time.

I spent 8 years working as a bank teller. This experience gives me an edge with teaching children about Economics because I have real-world experience on the value of learning about money, numbers, counting, etc.
