In this four-week class, students will learn about twelve letters in the alphabet and their corresponding sounds. I believe students work best when they can follow a predictable routine. Each day students will follow the same four steps. Step 1: Watch a short teaching video Step 2: Read any book with an adult and find the letter that was taught in that book. Step 3: Print out and complete a learning activity Step 4 (Optional) Take a picture of their work and post it in the classroom. My teaching style is organized yet fun and relaxed. I wanted this class to be a good fit for students of all ages working on their letters and sounds. Each student is encouraged to take a picture or video of their work and post it onto the classroom. They are welcome to ask questions as well. All of the work can be completed at their own pace.

My name is Mrs. Howell, and I am thrilled to embark on this learning journey with you. In our classes, you’ll make new friends, develop important academic skills, and discover how to embrace mistakes as valuable learning opportunities. Best of all, my classes are pet-friendly! Feel free to have your furry friend join in for some cozy learning time.
Teaching Philosophy:
Creating a safe, supportive, and loving learning environment is at the heart of my teaching. I aim to help students feel comfortable expressing themselves and growing as learners. My classes are interactive and engaging, featuring phonics games and collaborative activities that encourage connection and creativity. I specialize in working with students with disabilities, including (but not limited to) Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, and Apraxia of Speech.

Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Special Education
Reading Endorsement
35-Hour Orton-Gillingham Training (Swift School, Roswell, GA)
