In this class, each week we will be learning to write 3 letters of the alphabet, while also focusing on the essential skills of letter formation, letter placement, and proper pencil grip. Correct letter formation and placement are the building blocks of legible handwriting and it engages a child’s cognitive functions. It enhances fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness, all of which contribute to cognitive development. Proper pencil grip ensures that children can write for extended periods without discomfort or fatigue. It promotes efficient writing and reduces the risk of hand strain. 

This class takes a dynamic and interactive approach to enhance students’ early literacy skills. In each class, we start by focusing on fundamental aspects like pencil grip, ensuring that each child can comfortably and effectively hold their writing instrument. We then progress to tracing the building blocks of letters, breaking down the alphabet into its core components. This method aids in building a strong foundation for writing. Students then move on to tracing and writing both capital and lowercase letters, with every step explained thoroughly to ensure a complete understanding. Fun worksheets make the learning process engaging and enjoyable and keep young learners excited and eager to explore the world of letters. This comprehensive approach creates a stimulating learning environment for students, fostering their literacy development.

Parents will be provided downloadable PDFs to print each week. These worksheets include letter tracing and writing activities and a lined writing paper. Students will be able to follow along and practice on the worksheets while I am explaining and demonstrating each exercise on the screen. Once they are done, students can hold up their work in front of the camera for me to see.

Once we finish the alphabet, the class will restart from the beginning, so regardless of when you have joined, you will have a chance to practice all the letters you may have missed.
