Are you just looking for a new challenge?

In this new ongoing class, we will develop your writing skills (and practise your reading) so that you can are able to create fantastic stories and brilliant compositions! (And it will be fun)

I have a Masters and a PGCE (professional teaching qualification) from the University of Oxford and I have taught nearly 1000 students on Outschool. 

We will develop key writing skills, in a fun, friendly and academically challenging way. Lessons will be presented on powerpoint slides, with occasional accompanying worksheets. The lessons will be fun and interactive, with short bursts of activities to keep students engaged.

This is an ongoing class. Students can join and leave at any point. (Each lesson is a standalone lesson.)

The topic for the sessions will be:

Week 1 - (beginning 22nd May) - Writing a funny story
NB - there is a short break here for spring break - please check individual class schedule
Week 2 - (beginning 5th June) - Writing a poem
Week 3 (beginning 12th June) - Writing a formal letter
Week 4 (beginning 19th June) - Writing a scary story!
Week 5 (beginning 26th June) - Writing to persuade
Week 6 (beginning 3rd July) - Writing a play
Week 7 (beginning 10th July) - Writing a detective/mystery play
Week 8 (beginning 17th July) - Writing a memoir (from your own memory)
Week 9 (beginning 24th July) - Writing like Shakespeare
Week 10 (beginning 18th Sept) - Writing a jumble story!
Week 11 - (25th Sept) Non-fiction - write a description of your happiest day.
Week 11 - (25th Sept) Non-fiction - write a description of your happiest day.
Week 12 - (2nd Oct) Comic book story 
Week 13 - (9th Oct) A blog post - all about why you’re famous! (fiction - probably!) 
Week 14 - (16th Oct) Descriptive and narrative writing.
Week 15 - (30th Oct) A story about secrets 
Week 16 - (6th Nov) A copy and complete silly fantasy story.
Break - 13th Nov 
Week 17 (20th Nov) A superhero story. 🦸‍♂️ 
Week 18 - (27th Nov) A nonsense poem.
Week 19 - (4th Dec) A description of a person (then we have to draw them!)
Week 20 - (11th Dec) A CHRISTMAS space story!
Week 21 - (18th Dec) A tv advert! Write the script. 
Week 22 - (4th Jan) A letter to you when you are 42.

I have a Masters and a PGCE from Oxford, and many years experience teaching in a variety of schools across the UK.
