Students will read The Princess in Black by Shannon and Dean Hale before class and come to class ready to talk about the story. This class is perfect for beginning readers who are interested in learning more about the elements of a good story. Students will answer questions, practice vocabulary words, and get to participate in discussion about the book. They will learn about story elements, including character, setting, problem, and solution. Students are welcome to wear a tiara or superhero...
Students will learn about the elements of a good story by reading and discussing The Princess in Black. Students will practice vocabulary words from the book. Students will answer comprehension questions and discussion questions about the book in class. Students will learn the parts of a good story: character, setting, problem, and solution.

You can purchase the book here for about $5.87 + shipping: https://www.amazon.com/Princess-Black-Shannon-Hale/dp/0763678880 You can also borrow it from your local public library. Students will need to read the book before class or parents can read the book to their child. Students will also need to bring paper, a pencil, and crayons or markers to class along with a printed copy of the attached PDF I will send you upon enrollment.
