In this class, students will learn a new phonics skill each week that will help them to decode words independently. I use many Orton Gillingham strategies to help students learn the phonics rule being taught and apply it to their reading. I use Powerpoint presentations, short videos, and games to practice the skills. I am a kind and patient teacher, and I try to give each student many opportunities to share and participate. Students should be able to recognize all 26 letters and sounds before joining this class.

Hello parents and learners! My name is Rebekah Ciolli. I am from Indiana where I live with my husband and three children. I am a certified elementary education teacher. I taught kindergarten for four years and first grade for three years. I currently stay home with my own children while teaching online. It has been a wonderful experience teaching online to students across the world. I am thrilled that I am able to share my love of teaching while raising my own kids.
In the classroom, I love teaching reading and math in small groups. Magic happens in small groups! I am patient and kind in the classroom. I look forward to creating creative lesson plans to get students excited about learning. My main focus will be kindergarten and first grade reading and math standards!
