Among Us

Among Us is an extremely popular game that attracts players of all ages and can bring with it the risks of online space. During class time, I monitor students' interactions with other players in our games, but parents should also routinely check in with their students' online activity to ensure their students are playing in a safe manner. I routinely remind students of basic rules of online safety, such as not giving out personal contact information to people online, but I only have your student for one hour a week. 

We will also regularly review the concepts of fair play as they apply to online interactions. I will also reinforce the necessity of parents checking in on players and having open communication with parents in the event of unwelcome messaging. Again, these are concepts to reinforce with your students, as I only see them one hour per week.

Please note that I will never communicate with students directly through Among Us. I use Outschool and Zoom for all teacher-student communications.
