In this ongoing phonics/phonemic class, the students will practice using word parts to make new words. This activity will help the students increase their reading and writing vocabulary. Each class will focus on a new word part. The students will learn a poem/song to help them remember the word part. We will practice beginning letters and the sounds they make as well as letters that go together (bl, fr, th, dr, wh, thr). They will make and write the new words on their paper. They will...
~Student will use listening skills to hear sounds in words and word parts. ~Student will use language skills to read and rhyme the new words. ~Student will use creative skills to draw a picture next to the new words. ~Student will use reading skills to read the new words using the word part to help. ~Student will use writing skills to make a list of the new words.
