Singing, listening, copying actions and rhythmic patterns, marking the steady beat, matching pitches, dancing, and playing musical games pave the way toward future musical literacy by providing direct experience with the musical elements of pitch, rhythm, tempo (fast & slow) and dynamics (loud & soft).  The single, most important goal for our 3-to-7-year-old musicians is to have fun!  If enthusiasm wanes for one activity, we move on to the next one.  A good belly-laugh is a key ingredient of a successful music class.

Ms. May Louise brings to this class 30 years of experience teaching music to young children in both Waldorf and Regular Program classrooms.  She plays recorder and guitar, sings in a choir, and her license plate reads, JOYSONG.
