This class is the perfect class to introduce young children to music. You can come and go as you please, and no prior musical knowledge is required. Each class is designed to be engaging and fun for the student, and spark a love of music in their hearts. Every class will follow a similar structure, with certain songs and activities repeated each week to help students learn and provide familiarity. We will also steadily learn some of the basics of music such as rhythm, note names, high and low notes, and dynamics (loud and soft) through vocal and aural exercises, as well as rhythm games. Throughout the classes we will take time to sing well-known children's and popular songs that connect to the rhythm, pitch, or dynamic lessons that were learned during class.
Students should come to class with their voices ready to sing, their hands ready to clap, and a homemade beat box and drumstick (this could be created with things around the house, such as a wooden spoon and an empty Tupperware container, a pen/pencil and a class Mason jar, some PVC pipes and an empty cardboard box, etc.).
