This ongoing class is led by an experienced early years teacher. It is a chance for learners to develop their social skills by engaging in conversation with peers in a weekly class. Each week we will follow a theme for discussion and the teacher will include some visual aids and objects to raise questions and prompt discussion around a theme. Important Note: Learners can bring along an item related to the theme each week to show friends and aid discussion if they wish to . Ideas are listed in the schedule below... The teacher will post in the classroom page to remind learners of possible things they could bring along. ** Time permitting learners can draw a picture to fit our weekly theme, for example drawing a picture of their family and pets at home. ** Learners can bring along paper and colouring pencils for the drawing activity, thanks. Please see below for the weekly themes: Week of 08/30/21 theme 1: Our family - you could bring a photo to share Week of 09/06/21 theme 2: Our home - a favourite item from home Week of 09/13/21 theme 3: Holidays - you could bring a picture of a holiday you have been on Week of 09/20/21 theme 4: Favourite Food - you could bring something along to show and eat in class Week of 09/27/21 theme 5: Games - a favourite game to show Week of 10/04/21 theme 6: Books - a favourite book to show Week of 10/11/21 theme 7: Toys - a favourite toy to show Week of 10/18/21 theme 8: Nature - something you have found in nature eg a special stone, leaf, shell etc

Hello everyone! My name is Catherine and I am an experienced primary school teacher from the UK. I have a BA Honours degree in Structured Textiles and a PGCE degree in Primary Education. For the last 7 years I have been a certified teacher of early years education.
I currently teach part time in a primary school. During the rest of the week I teach here on Outschool.
I am up to date with the current curriculum requirements and I have extensive experience of teaching synthetic phonics, mathematics and mindfulness lessons using a scheme called Mind Up in my Primary School.
I absolutely love teaching on this platform and having the opportunity to meet young learners from all over the world. It is my passion to provide fun and engaging learning opportunities whilst helping children to grow in confidence and believe in themselves.
I offer a caring and welcoming learning environment where I help children to feel happy and safe. I am a motivated, enthusiastic and loving teacher who will help your child to grow in confidence whilst having fun learning new things.
My specialism is teaching literacy through synthetic phonics and I am excited to offer a variety of fun phonics lessons in which children can become secure in recognising letters and their sounds. Children will use multi sensory approaches to learn phonics through exciting games and learning activities.
I love spending time outdoors and visiting new places with my family. I am a Mum to a toddler who is turning 3 this year. She loves exploring the world around her and it is beautiful to see her excitement as she is learning about her world.
