Growing up, I was around a lot of birds, however I really did not know anything about them or appreciate them. Now I am an avid bird watcher and photographer. I want to share my love of birds with children. We will talk about the birds, where they live, what they eat, and many other interesting facts. Each week we will focus on a different bird/ bird family. The students will also learn how to use birding identification guides and clues on how to identify birds. Each week we will look at...
Students will recognize common birds and learn about their habitat, song, and other information.
I have been an avid birder for years, and enjoy taking pictures of nature, especially birds. I enjoy studying the birds and learning more about them.
I will share a list of recommended bird identification books for young children to the classroom, as well as websites. They will not be required. I will send a note taking page and a link to print off a coloring page if one is available. They do not need to have these for class.
We will look at birding websites to learn how to access information. I will be sending parents links and videos to use at home.
