As the founder of Apples2Zippers Learning Academy, I bring over 20 years of classroom experience to our academy. In addition to being a veteran licensed and certified educator, I am also a travel agent and entrepreneur with a deep passion for teaching and learning. My credentials include:

     ◾  Certifications: Business Education, Family and Consumer Sciences, Special Education, TEFL/TESL/TESOL
     ◾  Degrees: BA in Radiology Health Management, MSE in Business Education & Technology, MSE in Special Education - Instructional Specialist, Ed.S. in Education Leadership
     ◾  Notable Achievements: Graduate of the Arkansas Career and Technical Leadership Academy, participant in the New York Stock Exchange Teacher Education Program on Wall St.

🍎Meet Mrs. Lisa

Hello, my name is Mrs. Lisa, and I'm an experienced educator with a diverse background and a passion for teaching. I bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Apples2Zippers Learning Academy, and I am excited to share my journey and qualifications with you.

Areas of Expertise and Certification:
     ◾  Kindergarten through 6th Grade Teacher
     ◾  7th and 8th Grade Core Subjects
     ◾  Gifted and Talented Teacher and Director of Education
     ◾  Special Education Specialist for Grades 4 through 12
     ◾  Building Principal for PreK through 8th Grade

Embracing Online Learning:
During the Covid shutdowns and quarantines, I discovered a new love for the online teaching platform. In my one-to-one school, every student had a laptop and access to a school hotspot if needed. Instead of just offering the required "office hours," I ran a full online classroom during regular school hours and recorded classes for students who couldn't join live or needed to review the lessons.

Leadership and Teaching Philosophy:
As a principal, I saw significant improvements in learning outcomes for all students, from gifted learners to those with learning disabilities. I believe in setting high but attainable expectations and providing the necessary support to meet them. When students struggled with a skill, teachers would reteach it in a way that worked best for the student, building their confidence and skills.

After 14 years as an administrator, I returned to the classroom, teaching special education self-contained and resource classes for grades 5-8. Many of my students experienced two to three years of growth in one year due to our tailored instruction methods. Once students knew I would find a way to teach them effectively, they put forth the effort rather than becoming frustrated.

Subjects I Teach:
     ◾  Reading: Extensive training in helping dyslexic students and those not reading at grade level.
     ◾  Math K-8: Specializing in remediation of missed skills.
     ◾  Social Studies K-8: Including current events.
     ◾  Support for ADHD Students: Strategies for impulse control and classroom success.
     ◾  Typing and Social Skills: Decreasing drama and building essential life skills.

Building Relationships:
I pride myself on building strong relationships with my students and their parents. Many of my former students, now adults and parents themselves, stay in touch with me, as do their families. Social media has made it easier to maintain these connections, even with those who are not from my hometown.

Personal Interests:
I recently retired to babysit my first grandchild. When I'm not with him, my husband and I enjoy camping at the lake.

I look forward to helping your child reach their potential in any class I teach at Apples2Zippers Learning Academy.

🍎Meet Profe C

Hello! My name is Profe C., and I specialize in teaching Spanish classes for Apples2Zippers Learning Academy on Outschool.

With 11 years of experience teaching Spanish to students aged 10-18, I am a certified teacher in the state of Pennsylvania. I hold a B.A. in Spanish Education K-12 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and have crafted and implemented engaging curricula for elementary, middle, and high school levels.

My Teaching Philosophy
I believe that learning a language should be a fun and positive experience. Language learning can unlock numerous health, social, and academic benefits. My goal is to create an environment that motivates students to see their potential while learning Spanish.

Teaching Approach
Each of my lessons integrates listening, reading, writing, and speaking opportunities, ensuring that students build confidence in using Spanish in various contexts. Learning a second language can be challenging, but it should also be fun and rewarding.

Teaching Spanish is my passion, and I strive to make each class an enjoyable and successful experience. Join me on this exciting journey to explore the rich world of the Spanish language!

🍎Apples2Zippers Class Policy and Apples2Zippers follows Outschool policies🍎

📅Scheduling of classes📅
Classes are scheduled to accommodate various time zones for learners convenience and teachers availability.  

Classes fill up quickly, parents are welcome and encouraged to submit a class section schedule requests.  Apples2Zippers will do the very best to arrange your scheduled request for a class.  
Classes that do not meet the enrollment minimums will be communicated on Outschool to the learners and/or parents.  Students may be transferred into another section.

Per Outschool Safety and Security Policy
All learners are required to have a working camera, so that the teacher can verify each learner in class.  Please review Zoom features to get familiar with video and audio features.

Refund Policy 
Parents receive a full refund if they withdraw from a class of any type within 24 hours of purchase. Note that the 24-hour refund window only applies until the class’s start time, at which point the class-specific refund policy will apply

A full refund is also provided if a parent stops their ongoing class subscription within 24 hours of auto-renewal. As above, this applies until the class’s start time, at which point the class-specific refund policy will apply.

No refunds will be given for missed classes.  Your enrollment reserves your spot in the class.  Transfers to another section will be considered with a 24 hour notice prior to the class starting.

If your learner has not joined the meeting 10 minutes after the class’s start time, the meeting will be canceled. This is considered a missed meeting and you are not entitled to a refund. If your learner misses a class meeting, you are not entitled to a refund.  If you miss 3 consecutive class meetings without communicating with the teacher, you forfeit the class fee and the teacher may cancel the class or withdraw your learner. Your teacher may, however, transfer your learner to another available section, or provide a class recording, at their discretion.

Parents are welcome to enroll more than one learner in the same section of a class.  Learners may share a camera but each learner must have enrolled in the class as long as each learner has paid for the class.

Our classes are for ages 3 years to 18 years old, no adult learners, each class specifies the age group of learners set by Apples2Zippers. Please note parents/ adults  that listening into or watching class from a separate device is against Outschool’s policies.

✨TIPS for Students and Parents✨
✔Help your children learn and practice positive classroom behaviors before class starts.

✔Review the Learner Code of Conduct with your children before they attend their first class.

✔Supervise your learners (from a comfortable distance 🙂) while they attend class, until you’re confident they can participate safely and respectfully on their own.

✔Make sure your learner connects with their teacher each time with their video enabled to allow the teacher to confirm your learner's identity.

✔Do not exchange Zoom links with a teacher via Outschool messaging.
