In this class, builders will be introduced to the art of building a Lego® Mosaic. My teaching style is very student-driven, I will gear my teaching to the need of the builders in class. Students will be encouraged to brainstorm, share, and discuss their ideas with one another. In this class, we will each have a chance to show us a building creation they made at home (these do not need to be mosaics). Then, we will discuss choosing an object as the focus of our mosaics, adding details, brick choice, and color choice. This will be a very hands-on and discussion based class. Students do not need any prior knowledge of creating Lego® Mosaics. Students are invited to bring a favorite Lego® creation to show us at the beginning of class as we get to know each other before diving into building our mosaics.

For our ice-breaker activity at the beginning of class, each student should bring one Lego® creation they have built or are working on. Students will each have the opportunity to share their builds as we get to know one another. For class, students all need to bring: A large Lego® baseplate (10"x10" would be best) and many square and rectangle Lego® bricks of various colors.

Hello Families,
My name is Danielle Day. I have a passion for inspiring young learners! I have a degree in Elementary Education. I have taught in both homeschool and public elementary school settings over the the last 18 years. I have also taught ESL online. Aside from teaching, I have coached basketball and a Building Brick League Team. I think learning should be authentic, engaging, and fun! My husband and I have 3 sons. As a family, we enjoy playing games, reading, riding our bikes, building with building bricks, and exploring nature.
- If you do not see dates listed for a class, that does not mean that I'm no long teaching the class or that it isn't awesome. It just means that right now, I have more class ideas than available hours in the day. I try to balance opening a variety of classes and leaving myself some time to be able to accommodate requested classes.
