In this ongoing class, students will learn different scientific concepts each week through a mixture of lesson and modeling clay creation. In addition, students will be provided a Kahoot! game to review afterwards the concept of the week, along with a handout to cover the learned material (in the form of a notetaker with an answer key). Class will take place in the following format each week: 5 minute- introductions/log ins/ review expectations 20 minutes- mini-lesson on topic of the week 15 minutes- playdoh creation of the topic (images will be put on the screen for students to model after) Students will learn the following concepts each week: Week of October 17- Layers of the Earth Week of October 24- Moon phases Week of October 31- Space Technology in Space Week of November 7 - Planets in the Solar System Week of - Volcanoes Week of - Geological Fault Lines Week of - Fossils and Casts vs Molds (will need toy dinosaur or something like that for this class) Week of - Biomes- Dessert and its animals and plants Week of - Biomes- Forests and its animals and plants Week of -Biomes- Oceans and its animals and plants Week of - Biomes- Rainforests and its animals and plants (will need water and a plastic container for this lesson) Week of -Biomes- Grasslands and its animals and plants Week of - Plant Cell Week of - Animal Cell Week of - Rainbows Week of - Types of Clouds Week of - Weather Week of - Flower Parts Week of - Plant Life Cycle Week of - Seasons *Please note that colors of modeling clay is not specified, but multiple layers will be needed for each project so students can model correctly.

Students will create various science concepts through the use of modeling clay/dough. This will allow for a hands on learning experience.
Students will be given a link for a Kahoot! review game each week to review the lesson for retention and mastery. No subscription is required.
供應清單
Students will need a variety of clay/dough colors for each week's lesson. While no specific color is required, some of these projects will involve layering, so multiple colors is needed to model correctly. The brand of modeling clay is at the discretion of the family for creations to be permanent or temporary. Suggested colors will be provided weekly, but are not required. Students will be given a notetaker with answer key for their records. This is not required for class, but is supplemental to support learning.
